Embrace the Unexpected

The clear skies above the Tonle Sap River are symbolic of the biggest challenges that I faced during the project – they were the ones that were unexpected, the obstacles that were previously unaccounted for, and the ones for which we had no immediate solution.

One example would be when we created an activity that was too complicated to be carried out in a class setting and as a result the students were less responsive than we had expected. However, we overcame this challenge by reflecting on areas that we could improve on, and when it was time to carry out the activity a second time, we could not have been more pleased by the way it was delivered.
